About Me
I have been a celebrant for 24 years, and at age 24 was the youngest ever appointed in Australia at that time. I am currently the longest serving Celebrant in Geelong and am comfortable to say that I am highly respected in this field.
My love of people, reading and writing, together with an appreciation of all things beautiful, led me into this line of work.
.
Through other services I provide, such as Name-giving ceremonies and Renewal of Vows, I have been able to maintain fairly regular contact with many of my couples well after their weddings. A lot regard me as “a friend” or even “part of the family.” I find this extremely gratifying and humbling.
Although I view your wedding as a serious commitment to each other, I also see it as an opportunity to rejoice and celebrate your love. Together we can compose a ceremony that reflects your style and nature- from the simple to the simply sensational.
Weddings are not merely a job for me; they are a passion and a joy and I love having a role in making your day the most special one of your lives.
I am very proud of my role as a Celebrant but I also pride myself on being a devoted wife and mother. Most of my time is spent on running a happy home and undertaking Celebrant duties but I also love to shop, decorate, meet with friends, eat sweet things and read in bed.
An eternal optimist I view problems as challenges and adversity as a chance to learn something and become stronger. I never give up a fight for anything I firmly believe in and am passionate about reducing the number of lives lost to suicide; particularly in our young. I am a founding member of SPAN- Suicide Prevention Awareness Network and I have helped establish a website www.spangeelong.com
Being registered as a Celebrant is one of the best things that has happened to me.Twenty four years have gone by since my appointment from the Attorney General’s Dept and I am more passionate than ever about my work. I feel you can never under-estimate the power of words -or a smile.
